Amazon Key Cloud Cam Smart Lock Kit

So what’s the Yale assure lock comes with? Does it have zigbee or WiFi module? How do you connect it with your smart device?

Yes, it will work as a regular lock.

We’re selling YRD226-AZ which works with the Amazon Cam Key Edition. You do need the extra thingy if you want it to work with Alexa as well.

Sorry, but your response is less than clarifying. Saying that it will work as a regular lock just adds more confusion. Will it act like a wireless, remotely operated regular lock OR am I buying the technology so I can walk up to the door and turn it with my thumb and forefinger?
I have already purchased a two pack of that exact Amazon camera from woot a few weeks ago. Now I’d like to know if I can purchase one of the deadbolt locks being offered with the previously purchase cameras?

So I added the cam but it won’t let me add a lock…

Click add to cart. Then choose the lock of your chose and add to cart.

He was asking if he could just buy the lock and would it work. I said yes.

Your question is different. If you already have the Amazon Cloud Cam (Key Addition), then you’ll get all the features described here. It must be the KEY ADDITION cam though.

I recognize this is a confusing sale. We’re continually updating the features based on questions here and we’re learning about it as y’all ask things.

Does the amazon key have auto unlocking, so when i walk up to my door with my smartphone in my pocket the lock will unlock? or do i have to open the app and hit a button?

So that would be a feature of the lock. We looked into it and it doesn’t look like any of these have that feature.

I also wanted to note that it looks like the Kwikset Convert locks here are only “smart” within bluetooth range. If you want to be able to control them from outside of bluetooth range then you’ll have to pay a $100 one-time fee to upgrade to Kevo Plus.

While you can’t lock/unlock remotely without that, you can still send e-keys to friends if you want to let them in while you’re away. That was the main functionality I was after.

Guys… Save your money and place a spare key under the floor mat. Duh!

@JRobida99… I have the kevo and this sale interests me because I interpret it to mean somehow the camera (must be within Bluetooth range of lock) would fulfill the function of the $100 kevo upgrade you mention… I thought I could just buy the cloud can, set it near my kevo, and be able to, outside of Bluetooth range, unlock the door via some signal from the camera?
Actually for the price I was still just going to buy another kevo for back door, but @ThunderThighs is my interpretation correct? The cloud cam well allow my existing Bluetooth kevo to now be able to unlock via some wifi signal?? (I mean signal sent via some app I need to use for the camera)
Thanks for clarifying

Honestly, I don’t know about that part. All I know is what I read on the Kwikset website.

Definitely you are correct, as far as kevo itself goes, I know about that 100 upgrade for wifi capability is needed.
I just don’t know how the cloud cam interacts with an existing kevo to enable it to be unlocked outside of Bluetooth range

I’ve read everything in the comments section and now I’m more confused than I was when I began. I think I purchased 2 of the Quickset locks but I’m not sure. To say that this is confusing is the understatement of the century. I tried to buy 2 other locks and was told that I had reached the limit. I guess I’ll figure it out when it gets here. The way its setup to add the cam the lock and God forbid you actually select 2, you are going to get screwed like myself.

I looks like you can still cancel you order (2 hr window). Cancel your current order and reorder what you wanted.

I’ll just leave the front door unlocked. That seems easier. XD
