AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB Graphics Card

AMD is the chip manufacturer. AMD makes what are called reference cards. This looks to be a non-reference card assembled by someone else. What they meant was this: who is that someone else? I’ve included an example of the reference card design by AMD

Probably fake GPUs. No-name Chinese outfits taking advantage of consumers has been going on for a decade at least.

As is normal on the internet, many “exSpurts” speculating on a particular item likely not even in their possession. Suggesting Chinese companies producing less than good quality (and I agree) but just try to find any electronic item (or most anything else that isn’t made in China) so their opinion on country of origin is moot. At this affordable to me price point I’m willing to give it a try. If it’s DOA or I am not happy with service I’ll simply notify my credit card company to cancel payment. I’m a cup half full kinda guy and plan for a long life for this graphics card. I’ve already seen a picture of what appears to be a V2 version with a different plastic cover and a single fan. From what little I have found the performance is the same.

well, ha - Not sure what i am doing then. I ordered this very card. Put it in a 4,1 that has been converted to a 5,1 and no boot screen or even a login screen. NADA! Then again I am running Mojave. That might have something to do with it. I might try Monterey later.

How would I go about flashing a card such as this to work with a 5,1 cause it didn’t work in the other cMP I have that is a true 2010 5,1. I tried already in the 4,1>5,1 converted box.

Low and behold this card crapped all over itself. Got Mojave to work with it but only in Display 8Mb mode. Lol.
