Very well said!

There will be 2 each of 6 menu meals ( meal configurations could vary slightly).

Nothing. An older flameless ration heater might not work very well, but these look to be new production.

I know some people, including the hidden people, were concerned about the brand. I can assure everyone they are a good brand. Ameriqual is one of the main providers for the US Military for their MREs, and are founded, headquartered, and primarily produced in the city I live in, Evansville, IN. I have had several family members work for Ameriqual, and while a few have griped about wages, none of them had any complaints about the actual production or cleanliness.

Is this a good deal? Are we saving money at this price point? I’m unfamiliar with the value of these type of products.

Is it weird that they all come with tortillas? Even chicken noodle?

I have found my chicken-noodle soup burritos to be inordinately messy. Be careful!

If you have an Army Navy surplus store in your area, check them out. Or go to your local Camping stores and check out the price on real camping food.

I bought 3 boxes. I look at it as for a little over $8 per meal. I can mix in a couple meals a week to mix up what I have stocked up on already. There is usually a different assortment of the ā€˜extras’ per meal, so it makes it interesting to see what you might get.
In the past I bought similar online for about $11 per meal.

We are on Stay at Home orders. Those stores are all closed.

It depends on what you order from Amazon. I placed an order Thursday that was delivered this afternoon, and I live in bumfudge (Priority Mail is all 3-day here).

I agree. This is a great price for a 12 pack of full MRE’s with a heater. Better than most pre-COVID-19 prices and definitely better than the ā€œsurgeā€ pricing on meals now. They’re not inexpensive meals, but for what they are, the price is great.

Plus a lot of the meals on Amazon / Ebay either don’t list production dates or the ones that do are at least a year older than these and they cost more.

I was thinking of getting a box of the First Strike Rations (no heater needed rations) for months before the pandemic hit, just to see what they tasted like and to have something for emergencies, but once the COVID-19 panic buying set in, they were nowhere to be found.

Oh, btw, there’s a guy on youtube that opens up and eats MRE’s from all over the world and from all different eras (last video was one from 1906!): Steve1989MRE

He’s just got such a relaxing laid back presentation style, it’s sort of relaxing just watching his reviews… and the stuff that he’ll actually eat… he’s got an iron stomach.

Hey, what else are you going to do with all this free time now that you’re stuck at home under a ā€œshelter in placeā€ order?

They should be giving these out.
