Any good for esspresso? I’m assuming these are medium roast
packaging is a metamorphis??? Its evolving into its own over time…www.analogroasting.com is the official site…sorry its kinda blah
You know, if your into single origin espressos…your awesome! And the Columbian is pretty decent. I use it…but beware…I grind it even finer on its own…if you need to know the gear I am using…baratza settee and la spaziale mini vavaldi II.
Thanks, I am in for 2lbs. It was either coffee from Mn. or a My Pillow (Trump supporter) on Woot and I like your political views better.
Great, and thank you!
Love good coffee, love it when the vendor is active in the forums, feels more like woot of old instead of just a dumping ground to clear out some warehouse. In for a couple pounds and looking forward to giving it a try.
I AM A TALKING AND ROASTING BOT, Nah, just kiddin! Anyways…I think its cool to be here…I love coffee and just want others enjoying it as well. I have been a woot guy for probably 10yrs roughly myself. I hope you all enjoy it!
Did anyone else order this and receive it yet? The ad on here says roasted to order, but the packages that came in today have roast dates from July.
I ordered, and received the coffee, and one bag was roasted 7/29 and the other 7/30. That is Not fresh roasted!
Mine did as well (7/29 and 7/30). Certainly Not fresh roasted!
Same here. We received the coffee and stickers say Roasted 7/29 on one bag and 7/30 on the other. Maybe understandable if the vendor didn’t state in the comments above “We will roast after all orders are in up to the max amount of orders and ship same weekend. Your coffee will be fantastically fresh when you receive it.”
Same here, received 7/29 and 7/30 roast dates. I did a double take, thought maybe it said 1/29 and 1/30, but no, I received 6 month old coffee from the Gourmets at woot! I detect the aroma of a class action lawsuit, or at the very least, an abundance of chargebacks!
Finally got the bags today and mine were also six and a half months old(7/29&7/30). That is actually absurd coming from a small roaster. I could get fresher coffee at a Pathmark. That’s right I referenced Pathmark. Needless to say, I feel fleeced.
Roasted in July? That’s too old for any pre-roasted coffee.
Roasted coffee should be used within a few weeks, pre-ground coffee in less time.
Did it have any flavor? I wonder if they froze or refrigerated the beans.
That sucks.
We haven’t tried it yet. Finishing up our actually fresh coffee.
Update: I brewed the Guatemala this morning and they are definitely fresh. No way these were roasted in July. Has to be a labeling error.
Note
The Roaster Made a mistake and put July (7) instead of January (1) when printing the roasting dates. all orders were roasted fresh to order. please enjoy.
Not sure about the rest of you - but I prefer “oily” beans - my perception is the coffee is much more rich and flavorable. I am definitely disappointed in these beans - I ground my first batch and made a cup using my keurig and was really disappointed with the flavor. The beans smelled great - but not once it was brewed. Just me…maybe I’m a nuub…
Keurig? That may be the issue. How fine are you grinding this?
Just got an email from Woot! saying the “Born On” date was wrong. I really enjoy the Caturra
