Does this come with 1 year apple warranty?
Hi there -
Thanks for the reply. I am a bit confused: isn’t it true Apple factory reconditioned product usually comes with one year warranty? I had this impression from other’s discussion in similar posts.
I am confused by this as well. If I’m going to spend this much on a laptop, sight unseen, I’d like to know it has more than a 30 day warranty. Especially when I’ve seen other MacBooks on Woot have a 90 day warranty and be eligible for Apple Care…
Open box items typically come with a 30-day Woot warranty.
What does factory reconditioned mean if it doesn’t come with apple warranty?
Are these ever available with more than 16GB RAM? That’s barely enough these days. My 2019 16" Macbook Pro which I bought here and I’m typing on right now has 64GB. So while a new one would be nice I feel like 16GB would be a big downgrade.
@ThunderThighs explained this to me. It is factory conditioned, but open box. It was likely sold by Apple and returned in open box condition. Apple likely offloaded these laptops to Amazon, and Amazon offloaded them to Woot. The original 1 year warranty went to the original buyer and could not be transferred. Woot is backing you up with a 30 day warranty since the Apple warranty is void. Apple care eligibility is likely to be over for these. If it’s not included, sometimes Apple support will let you get it, but there’s no guarantee. If Apple restarts the one year eligibility period for refurbished items, there is at least some chance of eligibility.
From what I’ve seen on Slickdeals, these are typically given the 1 year warranty from Apple after a phone call to customer support. In for 1.
Received mine today. Limited warranty expires next month. Called apple and they said they couldn’t do anything about limited warranty, but it might still be eligible for applecare+ if brought into the store and inspected.
On the other hand, mine is basically brand new, with 8 power cycles; I am pretty happy…
