These 'mini" iPhones never really caught on…
Maybe not overall, but there are some huge fans - These have become a bit of a cult favorite, and some folks seem to just not want to give them up at all!
I wouldn’t have given mine up had I not had to shuffle devices across a shared plan for an upgrade. But my wife still has hers, my brother still rocks a 12 Mini, and my sister-in-law is still happily running her 13 Mini too ![]()
If you want the newer USB-C, then a 15 or newer will get you there, but otherwise, these little phones played nicely against the prior Asus Zenfone trend of little-but-powerful options for those who didn’t want a much larger device. The only downside, in my opinion, was that the battery left a little to be desired, but it was offset by the ease of using MagSafe whenever for a couple more percent throughout the day.
Hope that wasn’t too preachy - I just know that there are some diehards out there, like me, who think that these are/were fantastic.
I used to get a new iPhone every other year, but am still using the 256GB 13 Mini I got back at launch in 2021, the longest I’ve ever kept a phone. Already had one battery replacement and may get another one soon to keep it chugging along. Would love to have an upgraded phone in the same form factor with USB-C, better camera, etc. Was holding out in hopes that the new SE would be it, but rumors seem to be pointing to it being large which is a bummer.
I love my 12 mini that I got new from Apple. Still using original battery and works fine for even though it’s down to 78% capacity. I’ll probably get a new battery later this year or next so I can squeeze another few years out of this. The smaller screen and lighter weight are perfect for me.
Love my 13 mini. Not a power user so it usually lasts me through the day no problem. I do with it had usb c but I can live without it. The phone fits perfectly in my pockets and has more than enough power to do everything I need. I imagine someday I’ll need a new battery but that day hasn’t come yet. I’m going to ride this thing til it dies. I despise large phones.
Love my iPhone Mini and probably won’t buy another until forced to or until another smaller form factor comes out.
I bought the phone three or four weeks ago, but its battery health is only 71%, contrary to what was advertised.

Had the same issue with several Apple watches I’ve bought from Woot. Pretty sure nobody is actually checking what the battery health is. Woot will let you return it but it’s a hassle… and disappointing.
