I would much rather have an iPhone 15 I think the iPhone 16 e is kind of a disaster of a deal
I would much rather have a refurbished iPhone 15. In fact 3 days ago you could buy an iPhone 14 brand new from Apple for $500 which had a better chip, better modem, better cameras, better charging speeds, mag safe dynamic Island, optical image stabilization, ultra wideband etc.
All of that stuff is missing from the iPhone 16e.
I’m an Android guy but if I was shopping for an iPhone, and I do buy one for my mom every few years, I would not pay $600 for the 16e.
Someone cares about USBC I would get them a used iPhone 15 and if they don’t care about USBC and get them iPhone 13 or something
Coming from an iphone SE gen. 2, I don’t have MagSafe accessories, I live in an area without mmWave 5g support, I’m used to one camera, and value battery life more than most. I upgrade phones once every 5 years.
Another personal big catch: I have phone insurance included as a perk through my Chase credit card and it won’t cover a refurbished or secondhand phone.
With the 16e I stay with apple, utilize my insurance benefit, and I get just about every feature I would benefit from the iphone 16 in a cheaper form…
And I’m set for another 5 years. I hope.
Received my phone today. Phone came in a plain white box inside a bubble mailer. The box was a super basic white box. Perhaps the phone could have a little more protection. All it had was a screen protector on top. Phone appears to be new, has 0 charge cycles and 100% battery. Overall, pretty satisfied.
