Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max (White Box - Exceptionally Refurbished)

I’ve seen what Grade A refurbished was on an iphone15 max I returned. That was abrasions and a chip out of the screen glass. Should have been scratch and dent. So now we have exceptionally refurbished - better than grade A - with minimal scratches at arms length. What’s next superbly ultra refurbished? Cannot see the abrasions from lunar orbit? Nice. No thanks. For that coin, I’ll spend just a bit extra for new with a full apple warranty.

I’ve bought plenty of refurbished phones on woot, none of them have been worse than I expected. (and i bought one of these :crossed_fingers:)

(I’ve bought plenty of other items on woot brand new, and a LOT of them have been much worse than expected, I assume that’s why they are on woot, nobody was buying them cuz they suck)

I just ordered one. Curious to see how it looks. I ordered the “pristine iPhone 15” back in November or December. It was basically brand new didn’t seem to be a used or scratched dent model. The one issue I have with it, is the battery sucks; the phone itself gets extremely hot. Will see how this 16 is.

Is there a 90 day return apart from a third party vendor? And the power adapter is generic or apple? @ThunderThighs

Howdy. We have a 30-day return policy. Click here to see our return policy.

I’ll have to ask about your other questions.

Update: accessories are generic.

At this price you’d do well to compare with Apples Certified Refurb offerings. They come with a new chassis and battery, Apple warranty, and Apple Care+ eligible.

(edit) So IF you’re concerned about condition (pristine vs “scratch n’ dent”), and the full Apple warranty, shopping for Apple’s refurbs may be for you. (I’ve filtered those results on phones in roughly this price point, but you can turn off filters to find a model that fits your budget.) Of course, buying new from a first seller (where an Apple warranty is included Apple Care+ eligible) is an option if you must have an iPhone 16.

huh? Apple refurbs? there are no iPhone 16 refurbs at Apple. In the list of models, it’s not even a menu selection

To me this looks like amazon premium renewed. I have seen youtube videos of people getting almost like new phones. My first time though with a refurb

I didn’t mention models. I said AT THIS PRICE.

Yes you are right, this is not a good deal, this is the BEST deal. Never seen 16 pro max refurb at this price anywhere

Let me fill you in on why this is not a good deal. You’re paying $1,100. 00 for the phone that you cannot get apple plus care on. Now tell me how this is the best deal ever? To me it brings back to saying a fool and their money will soon be parted. You’re paying close to the price of a new iPhone 16 pro Max that comes with a 1-year warranty from Apple and is eligible for Apple plus care.

No, this is not a good deal. I just got a brand new iPhone 16 pro Max. 1 TB phone from T-Mobile for $934.72 only downside is I cannot pay it off right away I have to make 24 payments of $32.08 each month. Plus $164.80 down payment to cover the taxes. Which adds up to $934.72. plus the phone is eligible for AppleCare Plus. So tell me again how what Woot is offering is the best deal ever? The only downside was I had to trade in the Google pixel 7 pro that I bought from woot for $534 but I’m getting $830 using it as a trade-in. And I can buy another one from woot for $400 now.

Thats possible as you may be stuck with unlimited plan from T mobile which is close to 65-75 per month on post paid. While i get to pay 25 a month prepaid on AT&T gor similar services. I did same with Verizon last. Got stuck with iphone 14 pro max…never doing those contracts again. A big learning for me..

And i have been using iphones since 3s. Never got apple care for myself as i know they are reliable phones. Never had an issue ever.

Phone came. Box was soaked! Tamper evident tape was suspect pretty clear it was jacked with. Customer service sucks didn’t really help. Got a return label sending it back. Wont order phones from them again. Disappointed overall. Didn’t even open the damn thing so can’t see what it looks like.

Was it raining in your area? Customer service sounds like they did what they were supposed to - you have a prepaid return label.

Only my suggestion, but the water may NOT have penetrated the box. If you have a return label, you might as well open to inspect and see if water penetrated to the actual phone. Of course, if you’re 100% turned off by this buying experience, you can return it as received. As TT said, sounds like CS did The Right Thing. I would insert a note in the return bag attesting that the package was received wet from the shipper, in case some diligent mailroom person flags it.

For your previous phone that “gets hot” when charging, I would test with a genuine Apple cable, genuine Apple MagSafe charger. Getting hot could be a sign that you’re using an incompatible third party charging puck or battery pack. If you have no genuine Apple accessories, you could take it to an Apple store to test (not buy if you don’t want to). NEVER charge with a damaged cord or puck. (Also ensure that Optimized Charging is enabled in Settings, Battery.)

It’s great that this kind of sale suits your situation. @patric9956 (above) is a different use case, and wanted to ensure a pristine phone to start with, WITH an Apple 1-yr warranty and the option of Apple Care+. Apple Care+ is useful for people who are rough on their phones, or may put so many charge cycles on it within 2-3 years that the Battery Health drops < 80% or so, qualifying for replacement. The plan reduces the per-incident fee to repair by Apple as opposed to a third party.

I proposed Apple Certified Refurbished because those three requirements are met (though Apple likely won’t have iPhone 16s until the 17 comes out this fall). And in this general price range.

And yes I’ve bought Apple Cert Refurb for a MBA M2 and a Watch S8. Both were like-new, with full Apple warranty, making me a happy customer.
