Apple Mac mini 32GB 128GB (2018)

Cannot imagine a price that would entice the buying of an Intel cpu based Mac at this point. Apple M cpu all the way.

Who in their right mind would buy a intel mac mini? This thing is basically a doorstop.

Me, actually. I am looking for a lower powered x86 server to run various Docker containers that are not yet updated to run on ARM. The storage on this one is underwhelming for the price, there are better deals on refurbished units on Amazon.

This. I had the same version - just with a 1tb drive - used it for work 24/7 until I got a screaming deal on a studio a few months ago.

It’s still a contender - but it fits a specific niche.

This is the only item I ever post about. It’s a great computer, especially for those interested in getting into the Apple ecosystem. I use mine to run a Plex Server and the reason I like it so much is Mac OS X file sharing JUST WORKS, as opposed to MS Windows file sharing that seems to work once in awhile. The only critique of this week’s offering is that it does seem a little spendy when compared to the Mac mini with M-class chips. A more “Woot” like discount would be a price of $299 or $349.

This right here. Intel Macs still have a place for very specific use cases that aren’t available or ready for ARM based hardware.

The pricing, however, could be better and in fact, I would probably consider it myself for certain use cases.

As a side note- Plex works very well on Apple Silicon Macs!
