it says for Mac, but will it automatically pair with a 1st gen Ipad pro 12.9? this kind of Apple magic keyboards aren’t usually made just for certain hardware are they?

Yes. I use this model on my 11” Pro. It syncs perfectly.
Was there only 1 for sale? The sales statistics make it seem that way…
