Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger Cable (1M)

Apple itself, on its site, makes no claims about the USB-A version being fast charge capable.

Received, as is typical with Woot, faster than promised.

Have not tested to verify this USB-C version will fast charge a Series 7 or later, but noted, this Woot version appears to be physically identical to the USB-C charger that came with our Series SE, gen 1, a watch that is not fast-charge capable.

That is, back case is plastic. The USB-C charger that came with my Series 7 has a nicer metal (aluminum?) back that makes it slightly heavier and stable without a watch mounted on it.

The charger that came with my AWS6 had a white plastic back. The Apple charger accessory that I bought separately had chromed metal.

So based on the last comment, I would suspect these are liquidations of OEM “in the box” chargers for older or SE model AWs. Compare the price with new chargers and consider it’s not apples to apples (sorry) comparison. :person_shrugging:

FWIW I’m not buying any USB-A (limited to 5W IIRC) cables or accessories … instead, investing in Anker accessories supporting 20W or better via USB-C, even for the car. Even an Apple MagSafe Battery Pack will provide a newer iPhone with 15W charging with a suitable 20W USB-C charger (home or car), my preferred way to top off while running errands. (No need to plug/unplug, just slap on/pull off.)

This description needs clarifying, because the solid white USB-C charger is not a fast charger. It’s the same version that comes with the SE models (not a fast charging watch). The fast chargers have a slim aluminum ring near the top of one side. I ordered one, got an all-white, tested it against a metal-ringed fast charging one that came with my Series 9 and the speed of the all-white was 1/2 the speed of the fast charging model.
