Apple never made wifi only titanium or stainless steel watches, the all had lte. I grabbed a titanium one hoping that it really is titanium with lte and not aluminum. Has anybody got one from this deal yet?
Received the black titanium version, which includes LTE, as expected. Battery health is at 78 percent, not the 85 percent minimum capacity described.
I got my natural titanium version with 75% battery life. Woot is going to exchange it for me. It did have LTE but said it was not compatible with my carrier (T-Mobile). I don’t really care about the cellular at this point. I just hope I have better luck on round 2 as the titanium watch was pretty nice looking compared to aluminum.
I got one of these as a gift and the battery charge didn’t even last the day. I’m waiting on a response regarding the warranty.
I got ripped off too, battery at 74% with a warning that it requires service, scammy AF
Did they ever respond to you?
Please give them 24-48h to respond.
Yes, I am waiting the stated 24 hours on the contact form before I expect any response, just wondering how the others caught up in this material misrepresentation* were treated so I know what to expect (expedited exchange is my preferred solution but is that even possible? just return? nothing + a chargeback? just trying to understand what I will be dealing with)
*(The description explicitly states they were fully tested to be over 85%, not only is this one way under that, its so bad the battery health app warns you to seek service or repair)
I’m really hoping they can exchange but the ‘deal’ is only " 4 days left - OR - until sold out" so I may be out of luck.
UPDATE (for anyone wondering how this kind of thing is handled):
They are going to get back to me in 3-4 days on whether they can replace it or not. This did not make sense to me since they are still selling it right now, they obviously have 'em. Just cross ship another one today would have been my choice if offered. Maybe they meant they need to try to see if any of them are over 85%, but the listing made it sound like that was already checked.
If not, they will either take a return and refund, or we keep it and they refund $30 (battery repair from apple is $100 so that is a bad option)
Overall not great, not bad, response-wise. For the hassle I probably just should have asked for a return/refund right away but my wife liked the size and color and comparable deals dont have the same option.
UPDATE2: Ok, way better, the 3-4 days must have been an outside estimate, they have one on the way and now I am sending the bunk one back.
B+, good woot.
Update3:
Turns out they didnt have one and erroneously told me they shipped one. Ended up refunded.
I also bought titanium. Tried to activate it to us cellular to and it also wouldn’t. My watch (per Apple support) is good for almost every region except the US / North America.
He said I got a great deal on it (titanium, sapphire crystal) and I’m ok with it just being gps (in the US) - he said If I travel, I can activate it in Europe, Asia, china, etc.
