I have the Pro 2 and it’s pretty good for a wireless camera system. I still would say I prefer NVR (Power over Ethernet) system for maximum maintainability but then you have to run wires everywhere. If you have to go Wireless, I’d say Arlo > Blink, and Ring I’m not sure about but they seem to have a lot of ongoing support via Amazon.
Looks like this Arlo Pro 3 adds a bunch of improvements over the Pro 2, was considering adding it. Note that the 3-camera set is now $499 at Costco. So for only $10 more you get Costco support & warranty, and -2% rebate for Costco Executive members, which actually makes it bit better.
I wish Costco had a warehouse stock lookup. I’d much prefer to buy it in store, but I don’t need to do a full-scale Costco trip yet and I don’t want to drive that far for a maybe.
I have the Arlo Pro2s with no cost 7 day cloud service. Would like to get additional cameras but don’t you have to purchase service for the Arlo Pro3s?
You don’t have to pay for the cloud service with Arlo Pro 3. The base unit has a USB port that allows you to connect a portable hard drive. The system will save videos on the hard drive, recording over old videos when full. A 2 TB hard drive is about $50 at Costco.
Thanks. Sounds like the Pro2s are best for my needs. I have them on two properties so I can watch one while at the other. Need notifications & videos in real time, hard drive doesn’t work for me.
Pro2 took AMAZING video of the inside of a ’s mouth. Bear got hold of one & treated it like a chew toy. He dropped it when I screamed through the mic. Still works but relocated to porch since it may not hold up in rain due to puncture holes from teeth.
