Army Gear 10-in-1 Essential Emergency Survival Kit

The description of the pen just makes it for me. I need a tactical pen.

I bought this and it is pretty cheap junk. I would not recommend buying this. The compass is a joke.

Oh come on, who wouldn’t want an improved safety coefficient?
I mean just think of all those poor other customers that are dead because of the original safety coefficient. Their testament alone and the manufacturers dedication to their memory with the improved coefficient should make you buy a set for each toe all your family members have, (unless they have been maimed and disfigured in the use of the previous configuration and reduced safety coefficient), then buy two for each appendage left fully functioning!

What even is a ‘tactical’ pen? I mean, I guess you could work out some tactic where you stabbed someone with it to test the old ‘pen is mightier…’ thing?

The knife is much smaller than the picture. Overall it’s not a bad kit, except that is the main “value” I saw. So the price is not so much of a deal. How the heck do you write a review on woot? I am so used to Amazon, don’t even see an option to write a review.

You just did write a review.

Customers often look at past sales when purchasing. thank you for your feedback!!

Well SMDH if ya want to call these “Reviews” don’t have the website say “Comments” and “Discussions”…

And as for my comment: This is not “Army Gear” its useless made in china junk. Not worth disappointing yourself or others with. Remember if a gift is ignored and donated to charity, tis a shite gift.

I got one for my grandson who is a serious hiker/sportsman/camper. He thought the knife was a “fruit knife!” Very disappointing but kit was sent to another state so I’m not going to ask him to go to the trouble to send it back himself. It was a gift & as the giver, I’m embarrassed!

Ditto. The whistle I got was just a round pipe. The knife I got doesn’t have the wood shaver thing shown. It does have a window punch, but not the same as depicted on the photo. But for 20 bucks, it is worth it just to have something.

Survival kits are supposed to actually help you survive in an emergency situation. Every item in a kit should be of the highest/best quality so that when/if you need to use it, you have an advantage, not a cheap item that will be a liability. A good kit can add up to a couple of hundred dollars, so $20 is a joke.

I was a little disappointed in the kit overall. For some reason, I assumed that some of the items were larger than they are. Pictures can be deceiving. The fire starter utterly fails to produce sparks. The emergency blanket specifies “For One Use Only”. The compass contained on the paracord bracelet is frozen in place and the needle does not move. The compass on the clip moves, but never manages to point North. In fact, it settles on locations all the way around the 360 degree circle. Otherwise, the rest is pretty much as expected.

The kit doesn’t come with any instructions or explanations on what the pieces in the kit do or how to use them. Since a lot of the items are multi-function it is very disappointing.

How many Damn whistles does a survivor need anyway?

This really is a great value. Thank you.

It’s called comments because comments encompass reviews but not all comments are reviews.

Discuss.

So many negative reviews on a $20 item. I knew what I’d get for that, and I still ordered 5 of them. Christmas stocking stuffers. Throw in the trunk of the car to have available for one time use in a small emergency. Not expected to be your go to survival kit on a cross country trek.

And there’s some cool things. Several multitools, a bracelet I’d wear now if it also came with a watch, etc (though I’d never trust the compass for close map work).

For $20 it’s ok. Wouldn’t bet my life on it but it’s better than nothing. Mine didn’t come with the knife :frowning:
