I got a refurb for this 6183 modem from Amazon about 6 years ago so I could stop paying the rental fees. Easily paid for itself and then some (and I paid around double this price)…and with a modem rental about $8/month, this is a no brainer.
You can install this yourself and activate from your account with your internet provider within just a few minutes.
Since this is DOCSIS 3, it isnt the newest version, nor does it have the max speed available now. But my internet plan goes up to 400 Mbps and this handles it no problem.
Again, I’ve had this cable modem for >6 years now, it runs 24/7, and I have had essentially no issues with it other than needing to reboot it every so often (which I blame on issues with the cable provider’s network).
Bought a new one of these here on Woot ($50 vs $90 list back then) in Aug 2017 and it is still going strong. Didn’t quite need a new one yet, but my existing modem was approaching 6-7 years old, which is about when previous modems (Motorola and Linksys) gave up the ghost, so decided to replace it early.
Hi there!! I am seeking help with which of the 6 units listed i should purchase.
***Spectrum is my provider for wifi with speeds of 400 bps and digital voice. I do not have cable channels with Spectrum since i use Firestick devices in each of my 3 TV’s.
Im not concerned with price point for any of these choices today but am unsure of which one to purchase since I have digital voice which seems to be the issue.
Can anyone recommend how i should proceed? My head is going to explode trying to make a decision.

If you haven’t purchased one yet, are still deciding, and have Spectrum’s phone service/digital voice, you’ll probably want to go with this one, which has the Telephony ports:
