I have had this netbook since January and I love it. I only use it for word processing and for general internet browsing on the go, but it is great. Battery life on mine is well over 6 hours, but I bought it new so no idea on the refurb. The keyboard is nice other than a few keys in odd places, like the shift key is moved.
Overall it is a great computer for me and I suggest it for anyone looking for a netbook. This price is great, I paid 375 for it new.
not really. the newer processors are more energy efficient. plus, this is powering a bigger screen.
it will still get you great battery life, though. asus has always been at the forefront of battery management, but the pine trail netbooks these days will give you 8 - 10 hrs with a 6 cell battery. this one is graded at 6 hours and will likely translate to 4.5 hours of real world use. still good, though.
The Intel GMA500 graphics in this netbook supports hardware flash acceleration, so this should be good for watching hd stuff from youtube, hulu, and the like.
i’ve been looking for a machine that was bigger then a 10" netbook but not a “full size” machine. Members of my family have 12" Dell Mini’s (since obsoleted). If this is anything remotely comparable to those then I’ll be very happy as I can leave my 16" Asus at the office and rock this at home. In for 1. Thanks Woot.

Sounds to me like people are saying that older games like my copy of Star Craft, Diablo 2, and probably Warcraft would run on it?
How about the old Myst games?

Starcraft will run on anything at this point. I run it on my eee with no problems.
it looks like this was a best buy exclusive release. asus had released the higher end 1201 line and then the 1201HA and then the 1201HAB for best buy. the difference between the 1201HA and 1201HAB is that the HA has 2gb RAM/250GB HD and this one has the 1gb/160gb combo. so, any review (like http://review.techworld.com/netbooks-mini-laptops/3213165/asus-eee-pc-1201ha-review/) is applicable to this one as well

Let’s get down to brass tacks people and ask the really important stuff. Like, what kind of video games can I play on it?
[/quote]
Pretty much anything pre-2002ish.
You could play some simple, modern games. Some simulation-type games, like Civ 4. Nothing modern in 3d; no modern FPS game, no WoW.
Yes, this has no optical drive. However, a lot of old games exist in digital formats from certain distributors online now.
Can some one tell me if this has a cd slot? My computer knowledge is pretty close to zero, so I could be wrong and just looking past where ever it is supposed to be.
