I bought one of these before Thanksgiving. Then I shipped it back to Asus because it was crap (they hadn’t even bothered to knock the last guy’s cookie crumbs off the keyboard that came with that package, let alone test to make sure the touchscreen actually worked). I’m hoping to receive my replacement today. I would hesitate to give this headache as a gift.
I was able to get this tablet along with the keyboard dock on Woot a few weeks ago. I have found it easy to use without the dock as the on-screen keyboard is quite large. I resisted tablets for quite awhile. I have to say, that I do like having a larger android to work and play on. My games are easier to manipulate than on my Razr. Overall, I’m glad I got this tablet.
I picked this up at Best Buy for $275 brand new because it was red. Guess no one wanted red. Anyways, it is such a good tablet. Right out of the box you upgrade to Jellybean. Fast, responsive and can handle alot of apps. Cannot use flash once you upgrade to jellybean though.
I got the “day before Thanksgiving” woot-off deal on this and the keyboard dock as well.
So far I’ve been very happy with it. Numerous people have had issues but I’d say the majority have had no trouble at all…which is pretty much what you’d expect from any refurbished product.
I just recommend doing a thorough inspection and running a few tests (pixel, camera, headphone jack, SD card slot, etc) as soon as you get it otherwise you’ll probably forget before the 90-day Asus warranty is up.
I’m not trying to be a troll. Just stating the facts and trying to help keep the community informed. I actually own one of these tablets and like it a lot.
