The smartphone and keychain versions were reviewed by Car and Driver and got favorable reviews. Both accurate (yes, the cheaper keychain should be as accurate as the expensive app, which they said was slow). More accurate than the competitors. Keychain got a “9/10,” highest in the review.

If you’ve read the Tucker Max book you know why these are a terrible idea. If you have not, you can read it here (warning: its hilarious but he’s a bit of a tool): The Famous "Sushi Pants" Story - Tucker Max

Or you can find a good amount of much more sensible info here: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-personal-breathalyzer-and-why-you-shouldnt-buy-one/

All I can say is that every time I brought mine, they’ve been the hit of the party.

And frankly, it’s a good idea to have some notion of what your BAC is before you try to drive. Because you should never drive drunk.

I already have more than one of these, so don’t need anymore, but they are handy to have.

Seamus’ reasoning for not buying a breathalyzer is that alcohol affects everyone differently and BAC is not a true reflection of one’s level of incapacitation. Although he is correct, the whole point of one of these is to see if you are past the legal limit.

While we all react differently to the same amount of liquor based upon weight, tolerance, etc. the law does not distinguish between individuals, therefore Seamus’ point is moot.

I will never understand why a person needs one of these. If you seriously have to ask yourself if you’re “OK to drive” it’s likely 99.99% in favor that you’re not.

In most municipalities if you’ve had more than one in the last hour you are “too drunk” in the eyes of the law.

I’ve used mine to convince obviously drunk and belligerent friends that, no, they really cannot “drive home just fine right now.” In fact, that’s mostly what I used it for.

Now we are all old and boring and no one drinks to the point of belligerency.

it would be pretty nifty if it were a bottle opener, as well.

I hear this all the time, but one (even two) beers at dinner while I travel for work should not put me over the 0.08 limit. However, as someone who has had someone in the family get a DUI, I still worry about what my BAC may be, especially since different beers have different alcohol contents, it depends on what I’ve had to eat that day/night, etc.

S35 is cheaper over at the mother ship. $39.99 - $5.00 counpon

BAC is too close to BOC late at night!

By popular demand, we have more of the keychains!

the Betta Koi’s may need these after tonight’s party…

these could come in handy
