is this for only 1 dumbbell?

Looks to be that way. The deal killer for me looks like the inability to adjust in increments of 5.

is there an app for that?

I have these. They work well, but the pin on one of them gets stuck. You have to push down on the bar really hard in order for the pin to move. I read on some reviews the same issue, so it’s not just my set.

I have a set of these. You can change it in 5 lb increments, but you will have to adjust as it will be slightly unbalanced.

Not only is it for just ONE dumbbell (dumb dumb dumb), it also gives you the option to buy a max of THREE dumbells, for those with three arms, apparently.
It wouldn’t be such BS if they made it a bit more obvious you’re only getting ONE.
Shady.

Not everyone exercises both sides of their bodies at once. Some folks are odd like that, but who are we to make them buy two?

Walmart third party retailer was selling one for $199.99

Wayfair $136.74 for one

Bayou themselves $168 for one

Define “shady”.

I bought two last time around. Same here- pin gets stuck on one side of one. Sometimes I’m spending over five minutes shifting the pin- it feels like it will never slide over and it’s stuck forever. It’s a real disruption in my routine. It would take less time to remove a collar and change out weights in a traditional dumbbell.

As it is now, I regret buying these and wish I had paid more for a different set. I plan on contacting Bayou for help today and will post here how it goes.

How do the UPS guys feel about delivering a bunch of these?

How is it shady?

The description clearly states “dumbell.” That’s without an “s”. That means singular. As in, one.

Better deal, (not just price - you get a pair and they come with a stand, and offer far more granular degrees of adjustment). Easy to return/exchange if you have an issue. If you can wait a few weeks these routinely go on sale for $70 - $100 off (I got mine for something like $260). Have had them for 2+ years, love 'em. At a minimum 10% off coupons for Sears are easily found.

Don’t underestimate the value of the stand, folks.

Paying more guarantees nothing other than you paid more.

You two should look into getting some dry-film lubricant. I’ve sprayed the f**k out of my dumbbells once when new (I looked at the design and predicted there might be a binding issue) - that’s all they needed for 2 years in service. (and I paid less)

I’ve never seen the pin design on this model, but I can’t believe it’s that radically different that a little lube won’t increase your pleasure (insert slap-bass p0rn soundtrack here)
