Bidets, always to the LEFT?

I’m curious about the placement of non-electric bidets. Are they always set with control/knob on the left hand side (as you face the toilet? Is there any reason that one cannot install on the right hand side? Seriously, consider me a rookie and walk me through the reason(s)/process. Thanking all who reply in advance.

Don’t know for sure here but I’d bet it’s probably related to how in the US, at least, the standard position for the tank water inlet (that these connect to with a t link) is also on that side.

Edit: Also, given how they’re usually constructed, you’d have to buy one specifically left-or-right handed. You can’t just flip a standard one around to install it in reverse - the nozzles and everything would point the wrong way, and it wouldn’t fit the bowl properly either.

That makes sense, thank you.
Mine is a story of a tall laundry bin, its use by a mancub (15yo), and its proximity to the commode. There is evidence of a correlation to clothes making it Into bin rather than everywhere else. Teenagers … I don’t know why
Sigh
All of the above on the CON side of my want of in-home BioBidet experience if it can only be a left side placement.
