BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX String Trimmer

BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX String Trimmer

With the gearhead, can this handle brush cutter discs with the riveted saw chain links? Or is that too rugged for it?

Given I have an older model B&D 20v trimmer, I would lean towards NO for other attachment. It’s good for what it’s designed for, and that’s it.

(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)

Thanks for your reply. A brushcutter-duty string trimmer has a straight shaft tube, with a gearhead at the bottom… like this one. They typically can handle the forces of such an attachment. String trimmers that cannot are the type easily spotted with bent tubes, with a flexible drive shaft, and no gearhead.
I just realized that this, being electric (not gas), doesn’t even have a drive shaft. The electric motor is down at the bottom of the tube, hence, no drive shaft at all! Just the wires run down the tube!
But, given your reply, I’ll take that as a no, don’t. Too bad…
