What sre the BTUs?
I have this with some of the bells and whistles. I’ve never had a griddle prior and I’ll never go back to the grill (only the grill… it still has usefulness). The Blackstone is my best outdoor purchase of all time. You won’t be disappointed!

How do you clean it?
I just did a quick googlin’ and I guess this is an older version of their 36" cooktop. Their website is not clear (to me) if the 36" hard cover fits on it. The classic cover is $40.
BUT, if you check for replacement parts for model 1554, which this is, then a replacement cooktop for it costs $180 and is sold out. So… I guess this is a good deal?
Just seems like maybe all their current accessories don’t really fit with this. I can’t really tell.
heating power = 17.58 kilowatts
This says “Fuel type:gas”. Does that mean natural gas hookup or propane?

It has a hole in the back (see the pic) where grease drains into a catch pan. To clean, you just basically scrape everything off the surface with a scraper into the hole. It’s like cast iron, you don’t use soap and water, you just season it in the beginning.
Propane, but you can buy a converter kit to use for natural gas.
I think the Blackstone Omnivore #5856 cover is the one for this model? Their newer/fancier models are “Culinary” as opposed to “Omnivore” iirc.
There are also a lot of third party cover options.
You will want a hard cover so keep that in mind as a (fairly significant) additional expense.
As someone else mentioned, scrape it and reseason as needed, just like cast iron. Just keep the soap and water away.
I have this model, bought the Blackstone 5249 Propane to Natural Gas Conversion Kit on the mothership. Swapped the parts out and hooked up to the natural gas line on my porch. No more propane tanks for the griddle!

Sold, this is the life I want! Bring on the gas!
Walter White. Congratulations.
Because that’s a different model.
This is the 1554 model.
(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)
38,000 for this model. The older models were 60,000
