Do either the 1 or 2 camera kits also come with the Blink Sync Module?
The minis don’t require a sync module. Those are for the wireless indoor and outdoor versions.
LOOKS like the sync module potentially gives access to stored data without subscription fees. Any “gotcha’s” to know about with the first generation parts?? If they aren’t wireless, what DO they plug in to for phone access?
They have wifi, but you have to plug it into an ac outlet.
The very-similar “Wink” products left a bad taste when they tried to monetize their user-base. So a local data-cache option works for me… I have a couple of these from one or more BoCs, I should read up on them.
Any idea when the blink xt2 s will be back on woot?
Technically, you do not need a Sync Module with the Blink Mini Indoor cameras, but if you want features like motion detection, temperature sensor, live view, two way audio, operation with operation with Amazon Echo. Without the Sync Module, the clips are stored on the camera, as without the Sync module you cannot connect the cameras to the Internet for cloud recording storage.
IMO, you need the Sync Module.
They are Wireless. The only plug they need is to be plugged into a wall for the electricity they reach your phone through an app you usually get some type of free trial for storage I chose to pay $10 a month to have as many as I wanted stored for 60 days. You can get the same module even with the indoor cameras and they will also record that but you have to have a USB drive and the sync module to bypass the subscription and be able to save your footage. Please if my words don’t sound right are they came out wrong I’m not good at using my fingers right now some using talk to text LOL I myself am buying some additional ones to go in my house right now from this site I love these things they have kept my house much more peaceful there’s no question on who did what and who didn’t do what
