Blink Outdoor Wireless HD Security Camera, 2 Camera Kit

Blink Outdoor Wireless HD Security Camera, 2 Camera Kit

Bough these for dad house due to the portability and wireless capabilities. wanted to use as a nanny cam and safety cam just to keep an eye on dad. Cameras work b ut ther is way to many breaks in the footage to use for a security cam. person walked in to his bedroom, looked around but footage stops. next footage person is not in room. If they stole anything i could not prove it. I would not recomend for this situatiion.
does a decent job checking in on pets.

Did you change the retrigger time and clip length in the settings? You can reduce the retrigger time to lessen the gap or extend the amount of time it records.

These aren’t nonstop surveillance cams. As pepper114 mentioned, you can extend the length of the clip as well as how often it goes off as well as sensitivity. Just keep in mind that the longer you go, the more storage you will use up. You will wear your batteries out fast doing this, but you could also plug these in via USB as well and just use the batteries as a backup.

Currently have 3 Blink XTs, 4 Blink XT2s and 2 Blink minis. Account is grandfathered into the old plan which is a plus, but these seem to do the job.

One last note, another nice feature of the newer ones is that they are two way audio. You can turn on the video and then also speak back in on the other end. Have used those features a few times as well. I think that showed up on the XT2 and on.

Can you view it on demand? Like can I go on the app and view what’s going on through the camera in real time anytime I want? I’m looking for a camera to check in on pets, trying to figure out if this will do what I want.

Yup, you sure can. You can even tell Rufus he’s a good boy with the two-way audio.

I have 6 Blink cameras and while they’re easy to set up and the picture is decent they either never record or record 5% of any events. There’s about a 5 second delay in what is happening when the motion sensor activats. I’ve changed every setting to the point where every camera is set with different parameters and they are basically equal in their recording capability. The live funtion works unless the camera is “recording” immediately after a motion alert which by the time it’s free whatever was there isn’t any longer.
If the camera is super cheap or you’re super cheap like me then you might be fine with it’s flaws but I’m feeling less and less cheap all the time.

Are these backwards compatable with the Sync 1 module? I have several original Cameras and some XT2’s that I am currently using, and would like to add a couple of more cameras (without having to changeover to the Sync 2 module).

I think this answers your question:

So if I’m reading this correctly, in order to save video footage I have to have a subscription or buy a Blink Sync Module 2? No other way to save video to a PC or anyplace other than a Blink location?

Yes, but this comes with a Sync Module 2.
