So I use this pillow set in bed, but for back support when browsing the web or handheld gaming. I move the pillows away when I go to sleep, but I’m guessing you intend to sleep while propped up somewhat. I think it could help with that, as the pillows are very wide and stable, at least when propped against the headboard, and you have a wide variety of angles and setups to use. (There’s this high-friction material on the sides of the pillows that are supposed to fit together, which helps them stay in place.)
The pillows don’t get warm at all in my experience, although again this isn’t with me sleeping against them. Also, the set comes compressed in order to fit in the shipping box, so if you did want to and were able to return it, it would be almost impossible to fit it back in the original box.
