The “i” series is better in the line IMO. Just my 2 cents.

Objectively, you’re correct. However, for anyone who is seeking a decent DSLR, this is a rather decent price for a new T6 with 1-Year Canon Warranty.

If you miss it here on Woot…

you can get it for
$325 with free (ground) shipping
here

Sale price till July 31

and a pretty good deal for a second (longer) lens
you can also get the longer zoom
EF 75-300/4.0-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom lens here for $85

FYI, Tristate Camera appears to be selling grey market cameras, they’re not an authorized Canon dealer.

I’m not sure about Canon, but I know Nikon USA will not honor a warranty on a grey market camera, and won’t even repair a grey market camera even if you’re willing to pay for the repair.

Having said that, Woot also isn’t an authorized Canon dealer, although they claim to offer a Canon warranty, so who knows what’s going on there.

Generally speaking, any time a deal on cameras is noticeably better than it is elsewhere, you’re probably buying a grey market camera that may not be what you’re expecting. I’m not saying grey market cameras are necessarily bad, but know what you’re potentially getting in to.

Woot - Is this a USA model camera, and does it include the Canon warranty? Or does it come with a 3rd party warranty?

[MOD: Canon warranty as stated at the bottom of the features.]

Is it just me or do the “photos” of this camera on Woot look like digital renderings?

You present yourself as knowledgeable. I am not. Could you add another cent to your comment? Why/how is the “I” series better? Why should I hold out for an “I” series?

Woot. Very interested in this cameras but would like to know these answers too. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

It says 1 year canon warranty at bottom of features.

As SoCalChris said:

I would also like confirmation of the warranty on this deal. I’ve bought a couple of things here over the past four months where the description was incorrect (listed as new, amended much later to refurbished, etc.).

Woot where you at??

Just today? Seems to be heading in the wrong direction for awhile now…

T6 to T6i comparison is not very helpful. Apple to Oranges, as they are very very different cameras. Not to mention there is a $250 price difference between them, for a good reason. The T6 is a lower end model, but still a great camera for a consumer grade enthusiast camera. The differences are easy, 18mp to 24mp, faster processor, more shots in a row before it slows down. Not unlike any other lower vs. higher model comparison.

I thought this was a better one:

Check out YouTube for short videos comparing the two.

The T6 is an excellent entry level camera. It is packaged with their most popular wide angle lens. It is comfortably sized and still lightweight. This is a good deal for anyone interested in upgrading from their camera phone. Wireless is built in. Very good low light pictures. Video is 1080. Overall picture quality is great. Yes, you can easily spend more money for higher end cameras but you really don’t get very much more for your money, especially in terms of useful features. It also comes with a small built in flash. Great value at this price.

Woot sells these for Cannon, so there really is a warranty and they really are Cannon cameras. The manufacturer brings surplus inventory to woot to sell.
