Centon 240GB SATA III 2.5" SSD

Centon 240GB SATA III 2.5" SSD

Read the reviews, friends. Looks like these belong in a BOC.

Even from a BOC, I’d be scared to use it.

Prices on SSDs have dropped tremendously in the past year, to the extent that any basic system should have one for its boot drive. $26 buys this 240gb Crucial; yes, it’s DRAM-less, but it’s still much much much faster than a spinning disk.

Agreed. The ones I paid $120 and $250 for are worthless. Now that gets you crazy fast Samsung NVMe.

When I see these drives are any or all of them compatible with my MacBook Pro? It is a mid-2014 model. Perhaps solid state drives are a universal part that just need Mac formatting???

It’s not universal in the Mac world. In a 3 year span, they used three different types of SSDs. None of them are 2.5" and SATA, however, so these are a pass in your case.
