Centon Class 10 microSD Cards (3 Sizes) Price: $7.99 - 29.99 Shipping Options:: $5 Standard OR $9 Two-Day OR $12 One-Day Shipping Estimates: Ships in 5-7 business days (Thursday, Aug 07 to Tuesday, Aug 12) + transit Condition: New
I’m always tempted by these, but folks who have bought them have been so tepid in their enthusiasm that I never actually pull the trigger. Anyone want to change my mind today?
Does anyone know if these play nice with GoPros? Yes, they are Class 10 per their recommendation but it sounds like the GoPro is pretty picky when it comes to it’s microSD card.
ehh prices are only okay. even 64gb can be found cheaper if you look around, and centon is only mediocre imo at best. you can find better brands for the same or lower prices usually.

The Centon cards offered on woot today are microSDHC. The Centon card you referenced below, is a microSDXC.

All 64GB and higher SD (micro or full sized) cards are microSDXC. The HC standard is only defined to support up to 32GB in capacity.

I ordered a Transcend 32GB microSD card class 10 from Amazon for $13 plus free shipping. You can catch it on sale once per month
Thanks for the info on the Amazon one, but I won’t trust eBay for micro SD cards again. I bought a couple of SanDisk ones, and they were fake. All the pictures and video I took at the Taking Back Sunday and Bad Religion concert were lost.

Depends which gopro you’re using and what video resolution you’re shooting. The black’s 4K requires 5.6MB/s constant sequential write speed (in other words, not burst writes), while the silver/white can use pretty much any class 10 card. I would recommend (same as this review of a couple of micro SD cards does) the Sandisk Extreme 64GB SDXC (or 32GB SDHC) for 4K video.
The claim on the cards here is 40MB/s - I highly doubt that’s constant sequential writes. The same card (going by the image, at least) on Amazon says 30MB/s. Real world performance would most likely disagree. That said, you could always buy one and test it out

Thanks for the clarification I didn’t know that, thought I had goofed.
Woot
make me understand, I ordered one of these cards back in July 17th, a 32Gb.
Order number XXX. I still didn’t receive it, I contacted you twice, you assigned me a "catchy case number
CAS-XXX "…wow.
Where’s is my stuff, right?
[mod note: removed personal info, will contact CS on your behalf]
I saw this & thought DANGIT! I just BOUGHT ONE YESTERDAY off Newegg. But then I looked at the price of the 64gig & ummm… ok… same price I paid. It’s quite likely I will get it a lot sooner also.
WOOT, we miss you. The old WOOT. The one with the solid woots. This is the going rate for these cards. Is this not a sale a day portal for cheapskates?
