Question:
Using a light switch, and not an app or motion activation, is there a way to turn this light on and have it stay on, such as the double flip of the switch that works with other motion activated food lights?
Uh…why not just get a regular light? Do you want it recording all the time as well?
Yes. It is possible but you may have to use the Ring app on your phone or web browser on a desktop. The light switch would turn it on/off but not sure how long the light stays on upon boot up.
I have a regular light now, and often turn it on to help people find the house, which wouldn’t work if the light didn’t come on until they were already in the driveway. I would want the light on but the camera not recording until it sensed motion.

I do that with my battery cams so I think you should be able to with wired ones. It’s through the app.

From my understanding, a lifetime warranty is included for all hardware on a Ring Protect Plus plan or higher. Does that apply to refurbished devices also?

I bought one and it just arrived. Look’s basically brand new. I’m pretty excited.
Hotwire it and put a blank adapter wall plate.
The app also has a light schedule.
I just tried to buy two and it told me I couldn’t. So I tried to buy one and the order went through and then immediately canceled my order. Great first time shopper experience SMH

You can do this. You have to add the Ring skill through the Alexa app and link it to your Ring acct. We have lots if lights and they’re configured in light groups (through the ring app). Then you can just tell Alexa to turn on/off specific lights as needed or setup routines.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. The device did not come with a pin code and thus I could not add it to my ring app. I called ring support and they said there is nothing they can do and it’s a woot issue.

I am having the same problem with my three cameras, I can’t get them set up. The devices did not come with pin codes. My handyman has already mounted them on the house but when I tried to scan the QR code supplied for the first one I installed, Ring says it’s already registered to someone else. There also is no PIN numbers for any of the three devices. Ring could not give me the PIN numbers nor could they help me get my device unregistered. I’m now on the phone to Amazon and they can’t seem to find this WOOT order. I have not heard back from Woot after emailing. HELP PLEASE. This is crazy. I’ve been on the phone all morning with Ring and with Amazon. Amazon can’t even find the order even when I supplied them with an account number and tracking number. Order was May 16, 2023.
