Despite what you may think, wool keeps your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Nothing worse than a wet cotton sock.
I am with sylvandoc. I wear merino wool socks almost every day year round - light, medium, and heavyweight. So much better than cotton. But, no content details make this one a pass for me.

If this is your understanding of wool socks, you should investigate for yourself. Wool is naturally wicking and most wool clothing is not like your average prickly wool sweater.
My favorite summer hiking socks are wool, they are soft and have nicely cushioned heels.
