Curious if anyone has experience with this or a similar unit. Currently I’m using a small bin that I take a an outdoor rotating compost bin that is probably not properly located and gets semi-direct sun. I would be ok if this could replace that larger bin.
Countertop composters do work. I have the Vitamix Foodcycler and have only had a positive experience.
I’m a little skeptical of this unit, given it’s price (most units are over $200) and lack of any meaningful branding. I’ve heard some cheapo units basically just mix up food waste. But obviously I can’t speak to this product specifically.
Honestly though if you have the space to compost outdoors I’d just stick with that. I feel like these units are best for people with limited outdoor space. They don’t seem to work as well as a proper compost pile, and certainly require more effort to maintain.
We bought one at the end of May. It worked great until it didn’t. The on/off switch stopped working. We ended up returning it.
Purchased the Nagulep (Identical to this) and it works pretty good for what it is. Emptying it is not one of lifes greatest joys but it does what it supposed to do. We are considering moving ours to the garage, sometimes certain leafy items go crazy in there.
