Cuisinart 12-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart WMCS-12

Is the image of this set incorrect? The image shows three skillets, no steamer. Cuisanart does have another set (http://smile.amazon.com/Cuisinart-MCP-12N-MultiClad-Stainless-12-Piece/dp/B009JXPS6U/ref=sr_1_3?s=kitchen&srs=2587949011&ie=UTF8&qid=1454317066&sr=1-3&keywords=cuisinart+12) which seems to match the description. I’d like to know what I’m getting before I buy

Looks at the specs section. That says all you get. Looks like there is a steamer ?

I can’t find any reviews or mention of this set anywhere. Anybody have any idea of how it holds up in comparison to the MCP-12N? Was considering buying that set but this looks like an all right deal.

I was going back and forth between Amazon’s listing for the MCP-12N and WMCS-12. I couldn’t find the WMCS-12 on Cuisinart’s site, on eBay, or pretty much anywhere. Either way, the materials and items can’t be all that different from the MCP-12N.

I’ll save the $60 and go with this deal. Seems pretty solid to me.

It’s a 3 quart sautee pan - not sauce pan

The set on Amazon is the same set, only in a brushed finish instead of the shiny, mirrored-type finish stainless. I have a 16 qt. stockpot in the mirrored finish, which is harder to keep looking pretty, but I love it, so I ordered this set. I gave our son & DIL the brushed finish set on Amazon for Christmas, and they love it - the sizes of the pans are excellent for buying a set – usually you wind up with a useless pan or two. Things never (in fact, it’s not recommended) need to be heated on High – med is the highest you ever need, and the even heat is great. So excited to see this at this price for my own special treat!

Just heard from our buyer…

The fabrication is the same, but the sizes are slightly different.

Two of the sizes in Cuisinart’s In Line Set (MCP-12N) are bigger:
Woot set has a 2.5 Qt. Saucepan W/Cover, other set has a 3 Qt.
Woot set has a 3 Qt. Saute Pan W/Helper & Cover, other set has 3.5 Qt.

Hope this helps!

Anyone know what kind of stainless steel this is? 18/0, 18/8, or 18/10?

The listing says it is compatible with induction stove tops, so the outer layer will have to be 18/0.

From what I can find, Cuisinart no longer advertises what type of stainless they use on the inside. Based on that, I’d assume it isn’t 18/10. It’s probably around 18/4 to 18/8.

Edit: here’s more info:

So where do they come up with the original price of $670?

If you hover over the price, it explains it. The manufacturer or vendor supplies the List price.

Thanks for that info. Seems kinda shady to just stop advertising the grade of stainless they’re using

We’ve had what looks like the exact same set for 15 years, though it could be a different material.

We cook probably 10-15 meals a week, run these in the dishwasher, and they still look amazing.

They cook fine, I can only compare them to the Calphalon set they replaced (big box store quality), and they cook the same as far as I’m concerned. I used them on gas for 7 years, and an electric the last 8.

I don’t see any reason to replace them, and expect them to go another 5-10 years, or more.

With the overwhelming majority of users raving about the Cuisinart Multi-clad Pro cookware, there are hardly any notable complaints about it. Some users however, complain about food sticking to the pots despite following instructions.
