Lots of meh reviews (2.4 out of 5.0) over at amazon
35 1 star reviews. I recommend reading them.
I’ve had mine from Bed bath and beyond (which was way more expensive) for well over a year without anything happening while using it at least 2-3 times a day! crosses fingers Mine is a very dependable machine!
Only time I get a hick up is when I forget to turn off my space heater before using the microwave. The power gets cut.
Made in China.
Using the word “oven” is a misnomer. Microwaves are not necessarily safe. Google it.
Mine has been working like a charm for over two years. Got it for $115 at Bloomingdale’s.
wow, I was interested until I read the reviews. Im not risking my home for a microwave that tends to play with itself…
Your double-entendre not withstanding, there has been a news report that there are some computer controlled appliances that tend to do just that - turn themselves on. When microwaves or toaster ovens do that there can be real problems. With that knowledge, you have to ask youself why there are enough of these microwave appliances to be refurbished. Perhaps the micro-computers have been replaced, fixing the problem?

3.0/5 is meh reviews. 2.4/5 is bad. You’re not allowed to give zero stars, so the average is 3. Of course, maybe these are the ones people complained about and returned, which got refurbished/repaired.
I haven’t had a microwave since 9/2010. It was just how it happened and when it came time to buy one, I figured I could do without it. I don’t miss it.
More on topic, this is a nice microwave. What’s this about them turning on by themselves? That’s bizarre; I’ve never had that happen. If I were in the market I wouldn’t mind one that looked as good as this one.
I need a microwave, and this looked interesting until I read the comments on Amazon, thanks to you guys to who pointed them out. Thanks for saving me a bunch of potential frustration.
I have had this microwave for about 3 years. The only time I’ve ever had any issue is when I have another large appliance running, and then I try to micro something. Pop the circut breaker every time. Aside from that, works great. Works fast. Oh…one note. All of the numbers 1-4 on the panel are preset “minute” timers. If you want to actually input a manual amount of cooking time, you have to hit the power level button first before you can input, say, 1:45 for cooking time. Just an FYI. I love it, paid a ton more for it at BB&B.
I want it and need it, but amazon reviews are not all that great
I’ve had this microwave for several years, and I only have two complaints. First, it is too dumb for you to simply enter a time and go on high power, unless you keep adding 30 seconds or happen to have a cook time that falls exactly on minute boundaries. It isn’t that big a deal, but it isn’t intuitive to use. The second problem is that it SEEMS underpowered - that is, when we cook a bag of popcorn or defrost something, it takes much longer than the packaging recommendation for a 1000 watt oven. For example, something that requests defrosting for 65 seconds at 30% power (level 3) actually needs 85 seconds at 40% power (level 4). Popcorn that should take about 70 seconds takes 2 minutes at high power (based on the kernel popping sound method). The caveat is that I have no way of knowing exactly how many watts the oven is actually putting out, so I can’t confirm that it is in fact underpowered, I can only share my experience. It does look good sitting in my kitchen, for what that’s worth.
With all the NEW microwaves in the same price range as this one at my local Walmart, are there any good reasons to choose this one? …especially in light of the poor customer reviews at Amazon? I am in the market for a reliable, long lasting microwave under $100. I will probably cross this one off my list, unless someone has a valid reason for me not to.
My daughter and I each have this microwave. Fine oven, lousy handle. Both of us had the handle break within the first six months of usage. Mine is held together with duct tape, she just pulls on the little remnant that is left where it broke off. No replacements parts are avaiable.
I’ve still got a GE microwave from the mid-80s that works pretty well. Until I can find a quality replacement, it’ll be good enough.
Absolute junk! Had one that died suddenly…read the reviews on amazon afterwards. Cuisnart denies there was a problem with these. Too bad like my coffeemaker made by them… Now I won’t buy anything they make
