Dell Chromebook 3100 (Clamshell)
The Dell Chromebook 3100’s Auto Update Expiration (AUE) deadline is in June 2029. After this date, the device will no longer receive automatic software and security updates from Google, though it may still function.
There are no hardware upgrade options for the Dell 3100 Chromebook because the storage and memory are both soldered directly to the motherboard.
Clarification needed
Woot offering says…
Dell 3100 Touchscreen Chromebook | 4GB RAM, 16GB SSD
The description says that this device is a touchscreen model, but the specs (4GB RAM and 16GB eMMC storage) correlate with the non-touchscreen clamshell model.
The touchscreen model is generally associated with a Dell Chromebook 3100 2-in-1, which comes with a minimum 32GB eMMC storage.
Which model is truly on offer here?
I just received mine and I can confirm, it is NOT a touchscreen. Very annoying.
That sucks…
Contact Woot customer service if you have not already done so. I was virtually certain that these Chromebooks were mislabeled as touchscreen.
Possibly misinformation from the reseller/vendor or a remnant from a previous Woot! offering.
