Good deal, especially with an i7-12th gen and a 512GB SSD plus a 5-year Dell warranty! 16GB RAM and although I don’t know whether it is a 1x16 GB or 2x8 GB configuration, you can buy 2x16 GB of Crucial RAM from Amazon and upgrade to 32GB for only $57.99. I have had good luck with previous computer purchases from Woot! (And I just bought this one too!)

Just an update for the curious…The laptop arrived and looks great. However, I went online to Dell Support and checked the warranty status using the Express Service Tag. According to Dell, this laptop did NOT have the 5-year Dell warranty as shown, it had a 1+ year warranty that expires 8/24/2024!! The computer shipped via a 3rd party supplier from Fort Worth TX. VERY disappointed that Woot sold a product that was misrepresented as having a 5-year Dell warranty! Woot customer support has given me the option of returning the product for a full refund or giving me a partial credit if I decide to keep it. Just needed to update since I had said earlier that this was a great deal. It WOULD HAVE BEEN a great deal if the product was as advertised, but it WASN’T!

Hi there. Did you register the laptop? That usually resets the warranty. The warranty on computers are initially set to the retailer/vendor.

If that doesn’t work, reach out to Woot! Customer Service. To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).

Please allow 24-48h for them to respond.

Browser: Use the Woot! Customer Service form.

Woot! App: Choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.

Self-Return: Items without Li-Ion batteries can be self-returned within 30 days. Go to your Order Details to get started. The return label will be emailed from UPS.

Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.

Thanks, ThunderThighs! No, I had not registered the laptop, I just checked based upon the Dell Express Service Tag. Afterwards, I contacted Dell Support to find out if there was something I may have missed. Dell said that NO warranty extension was purchased for this computer. Dell said that they shipped the laptop NEW 54 days prior to reseller (Electronics Bazar Inc., who shipped it to me) that it had not been used or registered. After some negotiation, DELL quoted me $400 for the 5-year warranty that WOOT advertised as included with the PC I purchased and that SHOULD have been included with my purchase!

WOOT Customer Support has been very responsive and offered a full refund if I return the PC or a discount (NOT $400!) if I keep it. The 5430 is an “OK” deal without the 5-year warranty, but I can get “OK” deals all day long! With the price reduction I have been offered from Woot Customer Service, it is a “Fair” deal (if I disregard the time and energy post-sale that I have had to put into it!) Regardless, I remain disappointed.

Sorry, I did not intend to air my gripes here, my intent was to remind Wooters that some deals ARE too good to be true, even on WOOT since some orders are fulfilled by 3rd parties who may not be as honorable as WOOT. (For background, I have been a member on Woot for 18 years, have made 47 purchases including 12 computers, mostly Dell Latitudes.)

Let me check in with our computer team.

Update 7/22/2023: Replacement laptop has been received, and the replacement unit DOES include a 5 year Dell warranty. Thanks!
