Any idea what the memory speed is on these?
I have a the Dell Optiplex 7040 i7-6700 and 16 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz ram in it. I googled specs for the biggest cpu computer and it said 2400 MHz but operates at 2133 Mhz per Dell
Video card any good for just fortnight… Child is looking to purchase his own desktop just for fortnight… Thanks
These business computers do not have a dedicated graphics processor (video card); just what’s integrated in the Intel CPU. Gaming is not a strong point, and the 240w power supply will be insufficient for any GPU that’s decent enough – if you can even find a decent GPU, that is. ![]()
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
These don’t have a dedicated GPU, I believe they all have the 530 intel gpu built in the cpu. I did the Googling for ya, here is a Youtube vid playing the game.
The I7 cpu is a BEAST
Does it have bluetooth? What are the WiFi specs?
No Bluetooth. Includes a WiFi dongle.
Why does this only have 1 serial port and 1 ps/2 port? What if both my mouse and keyboard are from 2001? Or both from 1993? I would think twice about buying something that only has 1 of each. You’ll end up having to get a whole antiquated peripheral if yours both have the same wildly out of date connector. Don’t even get me started on the lack of SCSI and firewire ports.
Good thing this comes with new ones! ![]()
FWIW, by 2001, USB was quite standard already, though PS/2 was still popular for keyboards because it offers a direct link to the controller. 1993 would have still been mostly AT 5-pin DIN for keyboard and serial port for the mouse, as the ATX standard wasn’t created yet and I/O was still often from an interface card. There were multi-I/O cards that had the floppy controller, IDE hard drive controller, serial ports, and parallel ports on one card.
Going further back, I have a Logitech C7 mouse somewhere. 3 button, serial port, opti-mechanical tracking, and priced at $99 back in 1985, which is $254 in today’s dollars.
Also:
Have you seen this?
I don’t think these processors meet the specs for windows 11 by the way. Someone else can verify but I didn’t see them when I checked.
Finally.
H20DMI.

Ha!
To answer the Windows 11 question, no, 6th gen is not officially supported. There are workarounds, however.
So…
No Windows 14 support?

Besides, 6 years ago, this was said:
So…
That’s a no?
