I seem to have stalled out at 14 votes. I thought this might do pretty good. I guess not, but here’s a plug anyway: (click to vote)

Made it last week, but haven’t had time to post until now.

What do you think?

Man I wish there was some way I can turn one of my favorite quotes into a design. In the play 1776, John Adams says “This is a revolution d*mn it, we’re going to have to offend SOMEBODY!” I wouldn’t know how to put that in picture form, and even then … I don’t know the “trademark” or “copywright” laws. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, advice, etc… please tell me… hehe.

I was also thinking about doing a “volume of revolution” calculation, but I don’t want to resort to math again. It would be a far stretch of the theme in any case.

it’s probably against some rule, which makes it less surprising that nobody beat me to it, but I’ll give this a shot anyway

I’m sorry, but I really don’t get it. I mean, not only do I not see how it relates to the theme, but I also have no idea what this is supposed to be.

The first rule that comes to my mind is - no gradients. I’d still like to know what this is though. Curiosity. XP

Ok, I know it’s a bit late, but I could really use some feedback. When I finished this design, I honestly had no idea which shirt colour to go with. I thought they all looked rather spiffy. My default was royal blue (and that’s what I submitted it on) but I was wondering what the woot masses prefer.

I’m quite an amateur and I don’t think my eye for colour is very good. Looking at it now, I think I prefer brown. I’d just like to know the greater opinion - it’ll help me pick colours in the next derby. Thanks!

Here’s the current submission (on royal blue):

Dark color, navy or black are good.

I know it’s a bad time of day to submit an entry (I think?) but I had to finish it once I started. This is the msg I sent with the entry to Joel:

So you know those days when your computer just runs so freaking slow? And it keeps losing the internet connection and programs won’t open or close and you need to work and you need to look like you are working and the *#@& thing won’t load cr**ap and you’re in the middle of a big file where you’ve made lots of changes and all of a sudden the screen turns blue and then you turn red? You’ve been there, right? When you get that feeling you should rise up, worker! Revolt! Throw it out the window!

Here’s my shirt, it took quite a while but I’m pretty proud of it.

It could be my new LCD looks different than the old monitor, but half of those colors don’t look like woot shirt colors. I still think I’d like it on Kelly Green though.

Navy, brown or black. Navy or black if I had to choose two.

agreed. the navy grabbed my eye right away.

it does look cool on brown, though.

I like how the yellow and gold colors really pop on Navy. Generally, I am not a big fan of brown shirts (just unprejudiced I guess), but honestly, if you like brown, go with it.

Bummer. Where is this elsewhere you speak of?

Alas, I do want to.

Hehe. I like to entertain myself.

Seriously, this new knowledge does bring up serious issues on my plans. I had planned on trying to make an income off winning contests, but in reality, all contests have some things that are unfair. I constantly get requests for freelance work, so I might have to change my plans once again.

Fortunately, Ive been blessed with a great family who have allowed me to move into the basement. I figure I will take the rest of the year to figure things out, but mainly to do art.

If you wish to see my art, I have a blog I update with OCD frequency.

I’m pretty sure that my schizophrenic self will continue to make art. All the personalities have a need to do so…

;j

Jimi, just checked out your portfolio and your stuff is truly excellent. I’m very impressed.

thanks man. we are related in a way. tshirt artist.

if you want to compete in other contests, my friend has a website of most the contest sites… some are easier to win because they are new and the competition isnt as many.

hehe Schrobble.

i think you did well this time. the art really looks cool with that sketchy look. the derby is usually full of solid color and it gets old. critique wise i would have made your earth bigger since its center focal point, but you know… too late now for that. i think youve defintely gotten better.
