How much TOTAL weight, chainsaw plus battery?

DeWalt says the chainsaw weighs 73.6 oz. Battery will depend on what size you get. You should be able to find the battery weight online as well.

I highly recommend this little saw from DeWalt. It has a big advantage in small size, low weight, and easy handling. Whether strictly proper or not, I often use mine one handed. It’s not going to cut magically through very thick or tough wood. Use a real chainsaw for that. But in getting those small pesky branches that are just a bit too large for a lopper - really great for that. I also removed the metal nanny guard on the tip of the guide bar, but again not strictly proper. I do have many years experience with chain saws varying from 12 inch baby saws to 20 inch professional logging saws.
Regarding the battery, you’ll need a 5 or 6 AH size battery for this. The 6 will run longer but is larger and heavier than the 5.
The chain and guide bar are essentially identical to the other DeWalt tools that use an 8 inch chain, such as the pole saw. I expect that the motor and gear mechanism are more robust.
One more thing - this tool has a proper chain oil reservoir and chain oiling mechanism. But it does not leak the reservoir oil out onto the shelf or bench or wherever you left it, the way just about every other chain saw will do. I really appreciate that.
