DEWALT Portable 4 gallon Wet/Dry Vaccum

DEWALT Portable 4 gallon Wet/Dry Vaccum

When I saw “portable” wet/dry vac I was thinking “finally, a cordless vac that might be worth it, as DeWalt tools are normally some of the best.” But then I saw the blurb of “extra length 20’ cord” and realized they ment LUGGABLE not portable. I have three other wet dry vacs that are more portable than this by virtue of thier having wheels so I can drag them along as I go. I also have several “handheld portable vacs” that are truly portable as they are cordless with internal rechargable batteries, some by USB some by their own wall-wart (block transformer) but none of those have much “suck power”. Maybe DeWalt reads these comments and puts “20V Max wet / dry vac” on their short list of new products to develop…

Yep, Ridgid does that as well. They have toolbox-shaped vacs and small wheeled vacs advertised as “portable,” and none of them are cordless. I guess they’re portable in that they’re easy to take from one jobsite to another, compared to a hulking 16 gal that is extremely not fun to take anywhere. Dewalt does make a cordless wet/dry vac, though, so this got me at first, too! (I already have too many vacuums, and I don’t need a cordless wet/dry vac, but that’s never stopped me before.)

By definition, this vacuum is portable. The word you’re thinking of is cordless or battery-powered.
