Yup. I think I will stick here.

agreed, but not such a great pick for cyber monday by woot :frowning:

I picked up three of these. At only 18 bucks I figure if it comes on and works I dont really care about great resolution or editing. Like someone already said, great little stocking stuffer or gift for a younger child.

That wasn’t his/her point. It was that the cheapest price for new was $30, cheapest for used was $38.

Found some video taken with one of these… while scotch-taped to a remote control monster truck.

On the plus side, if your camera gets destroyed when your R/C truck is run over by your neighbor’s Camaro, you’re only out $23.

I wonder if this camera will work with theEye-Fi Explore 2GB Wi-Fi SD Card over on Sellout.woot… $20 camera with a $40 SD card.
How funny would that be?

Looks like it would be a good little camera to hack, with the disadvantage that it’s got a “focus-free” lens.

Also note that you can tell it to act like a USB drive, to make it easier to copy video to your computer without removing the card. This is good if you don’t have a separate card reader.

GOOD DEAL it being NEW! Should sellout!!!

nice & cheap, will help saving lots of video
*Expandable to 2GB with SD card

Great kids gift! Youtube crazy kids :>

$46 to $80(best buy) NEW w/tax+shipping.

GOT 3x for Xmas gift for brothers/sisters
nieces and nephews. What a deal, cheap enough to look like you spent $50 to $80 at Best Buy. Read somewhere its eazy enough for kids as young as 5 to use!

Will this work with my mac?

NO, thank goodness. Well, not unless you boot your MAC up using some crapolla Windows OS, which is, of course, an option.

This is just the kind of crapolla video camera that would make sense to use with a crapolla PC that can’t boot up with a cool MAC OS.

Wow, don’t know why I thought I needed to get up on that soapbox. Glad I got it outta my system though. Whew… Don’t need to carry around THAT resentment anymore.

Ok, not sure why, maybe Woot thought my reply to this post was offensive in some way and they deleted it, but I’ll repeat the part that could in no way be miscontstrued as offensive for those who might actually be interested in some useful info:

The videos shot with this camera will work with a mac. They are standard format (mpeg2 according to the info), meaning that the SD card should be readable on a mac, and therefore you’d be able to view/edit video taken with this camera on a mac. You just wouldn’t be able to install the included (unnecessary) software.

actually you can use this with your mac… read a review where a guy had 2 call their tech support to help him convert it to imovie

Will this work with the Pirates of the Caribbean software I got in my boggy old carrot?

I believe so, you lucky dog.

daithi2 said this camera has webcam capability. I take that to mean I can stream video to ‘ustream’. The manual I downloaded does not mention this application.

Is there another HowTo somewhere I can read?

Sweet, thanks! Probably will buy one now.

how crappy are these? For that price, are you kidding me?

Not the point. THESE ARE FOR KIDS, already. Don’t expect to shoot and edit a major motion picture with one. Your average pre-teen will be thrilled to be able to shoot grainy videos and upload 'em to YouTube.

In for 2 for the kids’ stockings. I could use one of the Pirates of the Caribbean cd for my son if anyone has an extra. Send me a message.

I bought one. Now wishing I would’ve bought three because I’m remembering which children I still have to buy for. Cheap gifts that appear expensive are always a good option. LOL

The only problem with buying from woot is I’ve never gotten the retail box for anything. So it doesn’t really fool anyone into believing I bought it retail. LOL

That is TOTALLY a Micky Mouse ears-shaped port in the front there.
… I think.

Your average pre-teen will successfully shoot a major motion picture with this. Have you seen Timecode? For editing, you’ll need iMovie.

Hahahaha!
Is your private inbox over the capacity limit yet (if there is a limit)?

There are about 1500 people out there who got anywhere between 1 and a dozen of these Pirates of the Caribbean CD’s (myself included - got 6) in their Bags of Crаp last month, and are very eager to get rid of a few if not all!!! Oh, and reports from the most recent BоC’s that just starting to arrive show, that there are more!

Anyway, if you, or someone else wants one of these rare and hard to get director packs, and can’t find it anywhere - PM me :).

Will send for the actual price of shipping (create and e-mail me a label if you wish), or shipping plus about $1 if you PayPal, to cover whatever PayPal charges for transaction these days.
