Very well. I have a camera trained about 10 feet from their front door, and I received an alert anytime anyone enters or leaves their residence. Sounds creepy, but my front door is in a breezeway, and they live right across from me. I’ve got a Eufy Doorbell camera that captures everything that happens in the breezeway and has package protection. I also know the guy who lives next to me, and the neighbors of 3 out of 4 of the downstairs units. I’m blessed to live around good people, except for the guy who lives diagonally from me and the guy under him. I’ve never met them.

People are not interested in their neighbors anymore. Used to be that everyone looked out for each other. It is a sad decline.

When I was a kid, teen & twenties I knew my neighbors and everyone (except Andy) was genuinely friendly & helpful. You could borrow things, get help with something, play cards or chess, watch a game, dig someone out of a snowbank, send over a meal, just shoot the shit on the porch, etc.
But I never knew their politics. It never came up. That was a personal decision and your own business.

Now through targeted advertising and unbalanced reporting of politics (Citizen’s United dumped $Ms into PACs) are dividing families, neighbors, religious groups, and the country.

There may be other reasons, but this is a biggie.

Yes, but it started before politics came into the fray.

People don’t take a collective ownership of the neighborhood they live in.
