@kg07 do you sell this print through a different producer? I can’t afford to buy poorly printed Woot tshirts anymore but I want this print sooo badly ![]()
Thanks for the support! I have found that woot printing is usually pretty good, but some of my favorites have definitely deteriorated through overuse. I will be adding it to my shops on TeePublic and RedBubble and submitting it to TeeFury over the weekend. I don’t really want to give out links to those sites in the woot forum, but kg07 or kg07shirts are probably my name(s) in those other places.
One aspect to keep in mind is that many other shirt sites are also print-on-demand (DTG), so the chance of print durability issues exist there also. Also I cannot vouch on what brand, cut style, and fabric is used for blanks at other sites; some are definitely more favorable than others.
The last two shirt sites that I regularly purchased from were Mediocritee (operated under meh’s parent company, Mercatalyst) and TeeTurtle (started by a former shirt.woot artist). The former is defunct, the latter went DTG last year but I really stopped buying a few years ago when they changed the blanks. For shirt.wooters who were around in 2012, there may be some irony in that.
Am I okay when a print from here degrades much faster than it should? Absolutely not, though most that have happened was in the first few washes and within 90 days, so CS took care of it. In the grand scheme of things, it’s kind of opting for the devil I do know (at a reasonable price) here then the devil I don’t know (at a higher price) elsewhere.
I guess the way I cycle through my Woot shirts, by the time the t-shirts are washed & worn 3-4 times and the print starts degrading, it’s past 90 days and CS just replied, past 90 days, sorry. I think I may have still gotten a refund after reaching out to you or Froodyfrog but I have a lot going on and some of my most loved shirts went bad very quickly and I don’t think a replacement is going to be any different. Also, I’m only mentioning all this because you cared to reply with a detailed message. I’m honestly saying that Woot prints just don’t last compared to older prints from other sites, OldNavy/Target graphic T-shirts, Carter’s kids graphic tees (washed weekly, even bleached sometimes) and I get emotionally invested in the Woot prints and ultimately all the prints start breaking down. So I have some Woot tshirts I just don’t wear because I love the unique print that much.
Do appreciate you guys being nice even when we disagree, the Internet is too cruel for me.
It won’t be either of us; most likely it was TT or a shirt staffer that made the note to the CS team.
