It depends on what you call beneficial. It will trap all insects that are attracted to light at night and lure mosquitoes, wasps, hornets etc. during the day.
I have the large 1 acre model. There’s a pond less than a block away from my house that breeds mosquitoes by the thousands (possibly by the millions). Citronella candles and sprays never had any effect. Once I bought our Dynatrap, we could stay outside in the evenings and not get eaten up. We love ours.
