So I tried to research the model… apparently ther is no longer a DC25… so I’m wondering which model this is … Dyson ball allergy perhaps?

It’s not their current model. Here’s the support page

It’s the old model. Def not the $450 one on Amazon currently.

is this a good buy?

I got this vacuum in a different color, same model, a couple of years ago off of woot for $100 more. It’s an awesome vacuum, still going strong in a large home with three large, high shedding dogs and 2 little boys. We’ve had no issues and I’m grabbing this one for my sister.

Hey dude, how does this work on hardwood?

I’m hoping it does well multifloor, especially with animal fur

Received ours yesterday. The button that is used to hold/disconnect the hose from the wand was broken (broken tab and missing spring) so the hose wouldn’t stay connected.

Called Dyson and they are shipping a replacement hose which should include the button portion.

That was painless, I’ll update if otherwise.

We’re replacing our DC15 that we bought off woot in 2007 with this DC25. Our DC15 still works, but the wand hose has separated in several places and is no longer functional (we use the wand a lot).

The DC25 is about $100 less than our DC15 from 2007, it’s definitely smaller and lighter - we’ll see how it holds up comparably.
