I bought this exact same “reconditioned” vacuum last year. It stopped working last week. Not going to try it again.

Wow is that a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner ?

[QUOTE=nakedwooter, post:1, topic:478619]
surprised it lasted a year, most of the refurbished items on this site die after two weeks or so.

Really? I bought a refurbished Dyson from Woot at least five years ago and it’s still kicking. All I’ve done is basic maintenance; haven’t even taken it to a professional. Guess I got lucky.

I bought this Dyson on woot many years ago…(can’t remember exactly…but more than five) and it still works great…I recently took it to my work where it is now a daily use item to clean up around the store.

This is without a doubt the most useful vacuum in our house. We have it mounted with it’s charging station in a closet and we go to it before our other vacuums.

Of course it can’t do the whole house, of course it’s not as powerful as our wired vacuums, etc., etc.

But it is the most powerful wireless vacuum we have ever had and ends up just being handy all the time.

I bought a refurbished Dyson several years ago on Woot! We keep it clean by blowing it out with an air compressor every month or so, and it’s doing just fine. Whenever it craps out I’d get another for sure. It’s by far the best vacuum I’ve ever owned.

I loved it for the 14 months it worked. Then trigger stopped working. 2 repair people told me replacing the circuit board would cost more than it was worth. Beware!

I’m just going to paste my amazon review below:

Edit after owning for over 6 months with 2 humans 1 dog and 1 cat in a 1 bedroom apartment: Would not buy again. Too frustrating how you have to clean the vacuum every time you want to use it. The canister is super tiny. You have to cut hair and string etc. off the brush at least every other time you use it. Dirt clogs both the brush input and canister input ALL the time. I have been washing the filter after every use because it clogs so quick. Already thinking about buying a new vacuum.

Super nice vacuum. Being cordless works soooo much better too. We can finish a 2 bedroom apartment in about 5-10 minutes.

you should clean every vacuum no matter the brand. I have two dysons and love them both. No problems works great. My wife has very long hair. Yes I do have to cut the hairs off the brush but I also had to do that on my last vacuum cleaner which was a Hoover. You cant just expect something to pick up dirt and then not have to clean it once in a while. that is just plain silly. It doesn’t clean itself.

Same, I have had (knock on wood) zero issues except for the terrible cheap plastic tool holder which broke.

Yes, but cleaning the filter after every use is excessive. I’ve had to do this before, and it’s not fun (when I first moved into my apartment I had to vacuum up so much of that powdered carpet cleaner stuff that I could do one room before I had to clean the filter, and even then it killed the vacuum within a month, but by then it was MOSTLY gone). I have a roomba that I had scheduled to run daily (it sat too long off the charger and I need to set up the schedule again). I had to knock the filter clean once a week, and had to remove hair from the brushes maybe once a month. My hair is tailbone length and my cat sheds like it’s his job. Unless there’s no upkeep done on the areas vacuumed, one should not have to clean the filter that often. Emptying the canister, sure.

had my referb from Woot for many years. I live in a mobile home with three cats. Can do the whole place on one charge. love it!

We had the same experience with one I bought here on Woot. Won’t chance it again.

They tout the trigger like it is a plus. I love this vacume but I rate the trigger as its downfall. You have to squeeze the trigger the entire time you are using this item. I called them and they said it was the number one complaint of users and there was nothing they could do about it. I have some arthritis in my hand and it is very hard to pull the trigger all the way back for 10 minutes. I cannot believe they have not updated this with a lockable on switch yet! Nice otherwise.

Then you may have more stuff clogging up your vacuum. I don’t clean my filter after every use about every few months I do.

awesome!!! as good as the irobot thing and does not need supervision like that although i have to handle it myself. the stuff it picked up my floor —scared me. i love this thing!!!
