You got a love it when somebody in the marketing department trips over their own shoelaces!
High Fidelity means true to the original.
Ear plugs supposed to stop everything that you would’ve ordinarily heard if you haven’t put them in.
What you really want from ear plugs is “low fidelity” or better “ zero fidelity” .
I hope the people in the marketing department at this company are red faced and embarrassed.
I was hoping to see a review from someone in the comments. LOL, I completely get your point. I’ve been following their marketing for a little while now. In their defense they market to concert goers who want to listen to music at the concert without getting their hearing absolutely obliterated. I’m one of those people who can’t actually hear the music because it’s too loud when I’m at a show, so I wear earplugs but then I generally can’t hear the music completely because the earplugs are too absorbent. I think that’s what they mean by high fidelity. With that said, I still don’t quite believe the marketing so I haven’t bought a pair yet.
Wrong.
“High Fidelity means " high-quality reproduction of sound” not true to the original. Not sure where you got that one. And the idea behind these ear plugs is that they allow the sound to come in with no distortion because the concert is so loud. And no damage to your ears. Not to stop everything the way you said. If that was the goal you could put wax plugs in your ears.
They work. In a high fidelity way.
I just bought a second pair for my daughter.
blue is $16. rainbow is $19 at Bezos Yardsale Website
And you’re both wrong. “HIGH FIDELITY” is my cousin, Fidelity at Coachella. Her parents were into vinyl records in the 80’s. She’s a trip.
BTW, if you want the case and all that then this is your deal
They work very well. I am a Latin dancer and many of the venues have deafening (quite literally) sound levels. As someone else stated the high fidelity refers to how the plugs “cut out” harmful sounds. Many standard earplugs only cut a certain range which makes your hearing distorted (music and conversation will sound very muffled or strange). High fidelity reduce the harmful levels but cut all frequencies the same to protect your hearing but maintain the sounds as you would hear them. I truly recommend them. I Can hear all aspects of the song to dance accordingly as well as hear the person next to me in normal conversation.
They’re fantastic. I used mine last year for three different concerts and don’t know how I would have survived with my hearing intact without them. In fact, when I had to adjust one, and took it out, I was shocked at how bad the sound was because it was just SO loud. Everything sounded BETTER with these. I’m considering buying a spare pair and can’t recommend them highly enough.
They’re great. I organize and promote EDM shows and I use these twice a month. They let me hear everything around me at an acceptable volume. I can still hear sets, I can most times still have conversations; but they mute everything just enough that I don’t leave the venue with my airs ringing. I think I paid $50 for a set direct from Eargasm so this is a great price. They are the only plugs I have ever owned where I can still enjoy a show.
But this IS Bezos’ Yardsale Website.
Bezos is too busy on his big ol’ yatch.
High fidelity means you can still hear the music without it destroying your ears…
I’ve had these for about 18 months now and I’ve been to around 20-25 shows in that time ranging from concerts at amphitheaters to music festivals to garage rock bands In small bar venues. These things are fantastic, protect my hearing without sacrificing actually hearing/enjoying the music. I’ve recommended these to dozens of people, one of the best purchases I’ve made on woot.
Just want to say thank you all for the feedback/reviews
My husband and I are going to see Metallica next month and we both were like… earplugs will be needed. Anyhow, saw the comments here and then looked at the reviews on the mothership and well… these clearly look like a winner.
Can’t wait to try them out!
These really do work amazing for reducing ear-damaging sounds while still hearing voices & music.
We’ve worn them to movies that are ordinarily too loud and while wearing these I can hear every sound, but the very loud sounds are muffled.
I wouldn’t use them for the target range, but for concerts and movies they’d work great.
Following up — my ears survived two nights of Metallica with no ringing or anything like that. And as someone else mentioned, I honestly thought the music sounded better with the ear plugs in.
All in all, a great buy!
