Bought this in hope that I could get bigger sound for our impromptu family dance parties. Sound quality was very disappointing, tinny and muddy at the same time, not much louder than the same gen Echo Dot, and it got distorted when it was louder. Woot was great about returning it.
Does anyone know if Madcow19’s experience is the expected speaker quality (like a Dot vs like an Echo)? My experience is with Echo Gen1 and the sound quality is very good. What should Echo Plus quality be?
I’ve found the Echo Plus to sound quite good, especially when used in stereo-pairs and tied with the Echo Sub - Madcow19 may have gotten a bum draw
I bought a couple Echo Plus units one of last times they offered them (some time mid-March?) to replace a couple 3rd gen Echo Dots. Can say they are much closer to full range than the Dots are, didn’t have the same experience as Madcow at all. There’s no replacement for displacement, particularly in larger settings, only so much you can get from speaker this size.
Keep in mind, these aren’t going to be high-end audiophile sound, but for their size/footprint and performance, they’re pretty solid, particularly at the discounted pricing.
What’s the Charcoal (1) option? It’s the only one available.
Hi there. We’ve got inventory in different SKUs and our system is kinda manual so we have to list them as Charcoal and Charcoal (1). There’s no difference.
Meh, it’s possible, but I’m not going to gamble the money again. Glad someone got a good one!
