I’ve got this. It’s mostly good. I had to connect the C wire to my furnace for power so just FYI for anyone DIYing this. Luckily for me the installers ran it and just didn’t connect it so it was easy.
If power goes out you have to go to the thermostat and reconnect wifi. The app acts like it’s still connected.
Overall you have to understand the system to get the most out of it. I keep playing with sensor locations trying to find the best ones for a certain room. Our 100+ yr old house has hot and cold spots, drafts, 10ft ceilings, etc. Doing things like keeping the sensors close to bed level in a bedroom as opposed to high on a book shelf or something has helped a lot. Keep the sensors away from vents, warm electronics, windows, etc.

FWIW, I have 3 of these (love them), in two different houses / wifi routers, and they all reconnect automatically after internet or power failures… maybe not instantaneously, but after a short delay.
You may have either a defective tstat, or weird wifi interaction problem…
You might consider doing a hardware reset on it.
