I tried a version of this years ago that most importantly looks like it has the exact same “clipping” (actually, “grinding”) element. It ends up chewing (and splitting) the nails, and I don’t recommend it.
This is one of those “there’s got to be a better way!” 90s infomercial products.

Ah, what you’ve noticed there is when an old, dormant listing gets taken over by someone selling a new product; then it looks like there are a bunch of reviews even though you can tell they’re for a different product when you read into them. That doesn’t mean that the new product is bad or not as advertised per se, but that the seller is willing to be deceptive to fluff up their product listing at least to get it noticed.
