From personal experience with over 7 years of experience as a very highly regarded OEM On-Site & On-Demand technician most of these (not IFixIT) kits are absolute trash. The metal is pot quality and wears out faster than a plastic bit would. Honest, a Torx-5 from THIS kit MIGHT fix 2 to 4 high end business machines before becoming USELESS.
The magnetic attraction doesn’t hold any screws except the microscopic and all-steel glasses screws. Does anyone have long-term experience with THIS product? Because, as tempted as I am, it’s another 20 bux that I’m probably going to surrender to Goodwill.
Also, the rubber bit holders are frustrating AF if you’re working on a unit that requires several bits. Just switching 3 bits can take an extra minute because you have to absolutely deform the rubber bit holder to get your desired bit. Plus, it’s very hard to see what bit is actually there. T3 looks the same as T5 in ANY LIGHT.
My advice, get a higher quality kit with less, but all the bits you need from a quality company. I’m not sponsored or paid for this either. Like I said, for nearly a decade I made a living doing multiple OEM on-site tech repairs

Agreed…Any cheap “precision” bits or screwdrivers that are sold on amazon are junk!! They wear out quickly and/or will easily strip out screws!!
Best to buy at least moderate quality tools for electronic repairs.

Where did you get the $79.99 reference price? I paid $27.99 in February 2023. Great kit, lifetime warranty like ifixit at a fraction of the price.

Keep drinking the ifixit koolaid.
